HWM (Halma) – An agent of change
Delivering HWM’s new Finance Director.
The client
HWM is part of Halma Plc and develops and manufactures utility network monitoring solutions which save their customers water, energy, time and money. Their purpose is to save natural resources and reduce CO2 emissions. This is achieved by providing their customers with the insights needed to monitor, mitigate, and optimise the systems that manage these natural resources.
The assignment
STOIX was retained by HWM thanks to a recommendation from a previously successful partnership with another operating company. STOIX was tasked to secure HWM’s next Finance Director with Managing Director succession planning. We began our search for a modern, transformational Finance Director who has a strong leadership presence and is an agent of change.
The Challenge
Our mission was to find a highly strategic, growth-minded Finance Director based in the South Wales area for this ambitious organisation.
Our solution
Using our robust retained search methodology we could seamlessly adapt to the challenge of securing a finance director who goes beyond HWM’s expecttions. We identified over 300 candidates primarily through thorough market mapping and direct outreach (headhunting). We then presented the longlist to the client and released the role specification under NDA.
We agreed a bespoke selection process which included a competency and behavioural assessment and video interviews. HWM then conducted their own interviews and leadership assessment with the shortlisted candidates. Finally, we successfully managed the offer process and as a result, HWM secured a transformational, modern Finance Director within the agreed timelines.
The process
Week 1 – 2
Identify and contact all suitable candidates, following with an update and consolidation call.
Week 3 – 4
Final rounds of outreach with submission of a longlist of 10 candidates and release of NDAs.
Week 5 – 6
Competency based interviewing and submission of a video shortlist of 4 candidates.
Week 7 onwards
Client Interviews, offer management with an ongoing onboarding support.
